A) What is your vision for a sustainable world?
Much is being said about the idea of a sustainable world. It is clear that a sustainable world is not an easy task, since people can not even do it in their own homes. So, in my opinion, for the same sustainable world, we should start by changing small attitudes in our own homes. Simple everyday things that could change the future. So in this sustainable world, every citizen would do his/her part, for they would be educated early on In my sustainable world, the people would have a proper education and you would not see papers thrown in the street ...
B) What are you planning to do to make this vision a reality?
As I always say, the foundation for anything important is education. As Immanuel Kant said, the human being is what education does him, so children should be educated in schools from the beginning, for they are the future of humanity. But it would take a while for this to happen, we must now use the technology to our advantage and make conscience campaigns in the media.
C) What impact has colonization had on our journey to a sustainable planet?
The environmental problems began in the colonization, before that Indigenous people lived in harmony with the nature, but it was only us colonizers who arrived that changed. We past the land and we past the natural resources, as if there were no consequences, but we know that this is not true, and we have already begun to pay for these actions, isn´t it?

Hello Mateus,
I am a mentor matched with your school. I think you have strong ideas that education and individual action can make a change. I like that you have focused on individual responsibility and as Nelson Mandela said: "be the change you wish to see in the world." I think that currently, some people don't think their individual actions will make a difference, but in your world, they would. I wonder if some sort of accountability would be necessary to ensure that people were doing their part? As a teacher, I can't agree with you more that education is important; however, I would add that educating adults is also important as children learn a lot from their parents and their experiences at home. I don't know much about the recycling etc in Brazil, but in Calgary, Canada, where my parents live, the city has given each home a garbage container, recycling container and are now introducing composting bins to each home as part of the garbage collection system. It is quite exciting what possibilities already exist. Perhaps some of these waste management programs would help people to make changes in their homes as you hope for. You have chosen a very powerful image that represents this problem. Great ideas and I look forward to reading more of your work in the next few months.
Very good your image and I agree with your answers. If we start to make a difference in the little things will already help a lot.
Exactly!
