About Me
My view of a sustainable world is based on the awareness of people on a global scale, to support, generate and challenge ideas to come to a solution together. The world I imagine strives towards a coexistence between human beings and the environment that sustains them, through being sustainable ourselves. As a student, I'm earning to comprehend these concepts as best I can so I can take on the responsibility to share what I learn and apply hear to the lives of those around me.
But I believe awareness isn't enough. The scare tactics employed by our scientists, leaders and citizens alike don't seem to truly absorbed by society. To achieve these objectives, we need to be active- we need to have faith in our ability to support our home planet and the people that it holds, learning about the increasingly vulnerable groups and cultures like the Pacific Islanders, that are being affected by our rising sea levels and spiralling temperatures. We need to incorporate our concern over our present way of life, to develop senses of community and selflessness to guide our morals upon the well-being of others.
Colonisation of our planet has led humanity to advance in so many fields and methods which support our population around the world. We have risen to the occasion to adapt and support our societies countless times, in separate cultures and distant civilisations. But now, as a finally intermingled world, we have the ability to use our technology and intelligence towards the benefit of our species of plants, animals and all life on Earth- to give something back to the things that have supported and provided for our way of life for generations.
So, I guess I'm excited to learn everything about these issues and look forward to seeing finally something genuine and first hand about the state of our nice little planet. Thank you, everyone, for this amazing opportunity.
