Environment   Oct 1, 2017 by João Victor de Souza Cardoso

In my opinion the most important target of SDG # 13 is the commitment of 136 countries plus the European Union in money for Green Climate Fund to reverse the climatic changes. The agreement signed in paris left aside the indigenous, as it directly affects them that are allied to the environment.

We need to think about the degradation of water through pollution. I think we should create water pollution targets because there are many places where water is contaminated and people can not drink. If we decontaminated and stopped to pollute nascent rivers, there would be more clean water for all beings!

Hi Joao,

Thank you for identifying what you think is the most important target of goal 13. Do you have any ideas about how the money could be distributed to developing nations? You mentioned that indigenous people were left aside with the Paris agreement, do you have any ideas about how indigenous people could have more of a voice with the global climate change efforts? Do indigenous people have much of a voice in Brazil?

Water pollution targets seem like a great idea. What are a few targets that you foresee being useful? Would you look at physical pollutants or chemical pollutants or both? How could you get both indigenous and non-indigenous populations involved in taking action for these water targets?

Thanks for sharing your ideas,

Allison
