Indonesia. Climate change is our shared problem

Environment   Sep 29, 2017 by Aldi Widodo

a. The most relevan actions/targets proposed in SDG #13 is that all Developed country commtment parties to the united nations frome works countion on climate change to a goal of mobilizing jointly $100 billion anually by 2020 from all souces to addres in the context of meaning mitigation actions .

b. These responses to the objektives of SDG 13 are reflected in paris agreement to prepare comunicate and maintain successive nationally determind contributions indonesia made a commitment to reduce the emissions intensity of it’s GDP by 29 % in 2030. 136 countries and the european commission signed the paris agrement. This helps indigenous and non indigenous communities because this will reduse climate change nationally, which decreases the amount of water pollution in these communities.

c. Think thst all counties sscatterred in the world should be active, because it wan’t be effective if just one or two nations do the ecological correct right thing and start acting.

Hi Aldi,

Thanks for posting your entry for assignment 2a.

I took a moment to do a search for more information about Indonesia's GHG reduction target and it's associated plan (so I could learn more). Based on what I found, Indonesia sort of has multiple reduction targets:

I see from your (a) response in your post that one of the most important aspects of SDG#13 is the proposal to have developed countries commit $100 billion/year by 2020 to assist developing countries reach their reduction goals.

What sort of actions does Indonesia plan to take to reduce emissions 26% by 2020 and 29% by 2030? How do those actions differ if Indonesia is able to receive funds from developed countries? What do you believe is the most important action Indonesia can take, and do you think they're on track to be successful?

I completely agree with your (c) comment, that all the countries of the world have to take action against climate change in order for us to be successful in circumventing the worst possible outcomes. As a developing country looking for international support, do you feel that developed countries are doing enough to help you reach your emission reduction targets?
