I did only one of the simulations , the Ecological footprint calculator, because we were split up into smaller group for this particular activity. The survey was interesting and it’s results intrigued me more than anything. It allowed me to view how my current lifestyle is affecting the environment. And it turns out that I am more eco friendly than I had initially anticipated. My Ecological Footprint was slightly better than that of my nation, Ghana, and that’s a good thing but it can be reduced even further by me as an individual through the reusing and recycling of products that do not need to be immediately disposed of. I feel like even though large scale companies produce the most carbon dioxide and sulphur dioxide emissions and therefore influence the wider populous greatly.
The simulations were very eye opening and I feel like everyone should scaly do one of these at one point in their lives, maybe, during their secondary education. The simulations helped me identify exactly what my impact is on the environment as an individual a section which is normally vague because we never really know how much harm we are doing to the environment when chemical, ionic and word equations are being thrown around when discussing the topic.
The simulation has just solidified my resolve to become a keen recycler in the community. It has not really affected my ideology but instead has just strengthened my view on exactly what I would do.
By the Way: If everyone lived like me, we would need 3.8 Earths.

The ecological footprint calculator simulation made you more eco-friendly than before. Your understanding about individual food habit and lifestyle and their impact on environment is a good lesson for all. This is really an eye opening tool to be more responsible to environment.
