CILT/BRASILIA-BRAZIL/2D/Teacher: Cristina Lourenço

Environment   Sep 13, 2017 by Talles

I will compare my ecological footprint with that of Brazil. My ecological footprint gave 2.47 hectares globally, the average of the ecological footprint of Brazil per capita is 2.90. If all people had the some media as me, we would need 1.4 planets.

In my ecological footprint I can reduce several things like energy, and the recycling of garbage, if I reduce it, my ecological footprint would be much better. And what I do not need to change is the size of the house and the amount times I drive, because the carbon dioxide destroys the ozone layer.

The climate is totally related to the ozone layer and to global warming, so the less we destroy the ozone layer, the more the climate will be pleasant, so each person should measure their ecological footprint to know what should improve in relation to nature.

Hi Talle,

Well said. From your ecological footprint results, I can see the negative impact your life style has on the our planet is less than that of most people in your country. It goes without saying that we can still do more to improve our climate conditions. The connections your drew between energy and recycling of garbage are very essential and I agree with you thoroughly. Driving less is certainly one way to contribute toward a healthy plant. perhaps, you could consider join the bus. That way, the emission of carbon dioxide will be reduced which will mean less destruction to our ozone layer. I see you have learned a lot from the simulations. Good work.

Br,

Elliot.
