CILT- BRASÍLIA-BRAZIL- Class: 2D- Teacher: Cristina Lourenço- 1A "A NEW START"

Environment   Aug 31, 2017 by Talles

Climate change is the increase in temperature on the planet, which causes rain and extreme droughts, this affects me in some factors like heat and heavy rain, which makes it difficult to pass cars, making it difficult for me to visit school and other things, and where I live in Brasilia, the weather is not different

My view on a sustainable world is that we all have to take care of the environment on a number of factors, such as separating garbage, not throwing trash on the street and the main ones are recycling and water saving. For this to become a reality, we all have to learn to care for the environment, save water, separate garbage and other attitudes that help make the world sustainable. Since the colonization in Brazil, we have already destroyed our fauna and flora. An example of this is the Mata Atlantica, with the extraction of Brazilian wood, deforesting the forest, which causes destruction of the ozone layer, which does not contribute to a sustainable planet.

Talles, thank you for making connecting climate change to your personal experience. Often, stories are one of the best ways to connect with others, an important part of climate change education. I also really appreciate you using the example of Mata Atlantica – I would love for you to explore this more. You talk about deforestation and its impact on the environment, but what about indigenous communities in Brazil? How are industry and colonization connected?
