A sustainable world is greener than gray, is where man works in perfect harmony with the environment, is when society develops without affecting the natural balance, respecting the fauna and flora around them and using the natural resources provided by them in the best way.
This ideal world is also based on the lives of its inhabitants, there is sustainability if people grow healthy and age well. There is sustainability if animals live free in their habitats. There is sustainability when we work to make it happen.
I hope one day I can work harder for this vision become more real, I'm actually working to make it happen since now, been helped and following the example of my mother, my first teacher of sustainability. We start at home where we have an organic garden full of vegetables, fruits trees, plants and flowers. When it rains we collect and store the water for the dry days and we also reuse the water of washing machine. I learned form my mother that milk cartons are great pots of planting seeds and glass and paper packaging has several utilities.
In my day to day, whenever possible, i avoid taking buses, and i always throw away garbage in the right place, for make this vision reality i try to do my best within my limitations.
Colonization consists in the appropriation of a place and everything that is therein. What happens when a place is colonized is the degradation of the environment through the exploration of natural resources and deforestation, causing the death if its inhabitants, human or not and the local nature.

Hi Isamara,
I am a mentor from Canada. I really appreciate your ideas about a sustainable world and the imagery you create using "greener than gray." The efforts that you and your mom are taking sound really great and what a wonderful lesson for your mom to help you learn. Are you trying to get more people to change their ways? I wonder if you could share some of your ideas at your school or even get the school to change some of the ways things are done there? I hope this project helps you to learn more about the environment and develop your passion for sustainability.
