Philippines: 1a My Virtual Profile

Environment   Aug 21, 2017 by Kathleen Grace E. Tulabing

A) What is your vision for a sustainable world?

  • My vision for a sustainable world is progressive in which our success is basically stepping by step. I particularly refer to economic goods and products, weather, climate, geographical and political views, and the sisterhood and brotherhood among the countries. Especially our vision to have a sustainability in terms of our basic needs, more food to eat and shelter for a home. What we always have seen in our world is reversed there are still people who can’t eat 3 times day, people who don’t have shelter for their family and issues that they have to survive. I’ve seen a lot of problems like this especially in my community, it’s heart touching to see kids working for their family they can’t go to school to have a better education and future, instead, they beg on the streets hoping if they can find money and eat at least one meal. That’s so sad and awful the government can’t even know or seek for this type of situation. So, in this case, the vision for a sustainable world is a government who can look after this, a good community for a better world.

B) What are you planning to do to make this vision a reality?

  • This should involve the authority and the government who can organize and be able to create a program for this. The first step should be Awareness and Information Drive, conduct a survey first and filter the people. If the people are aware of what is happening in the world they can realize what do they have to do, also the government authorities also need to approve and be aware of this, how will the world change if they can’t agree to what is the real problem especially the climate change, some people can’t even notice about this matter and agree on what is happening to it. The planet has to be saved because the land that we walk every day is the ground that the next generation will live someday. Let us make our vision to be in reality.

C) What impact has colonization had on our journey to a sustainable planet?

  • Colonization takes part on everything, especially in the History. The reason why few countries are on progression and sustainable is that of their history. Sometimes it’s the history creates the path on a good government. The Philippines, experienced the colonization many times by other countries and people who influenced us to spawn their knowledge on what we have the natural treasures and resources, it’s crazy to think people who colonized us the most benefits more. As time goes by, the impact of colonization on the journey of our country is stable but not on progression we all can think of these but it’s true we still need more time to change and make our journey sustainable.
