Answer the following two questions, and find an image online that captures some aspect of how you view climate change.
- A) What is your vision for a sustainable world?
My vision for a sustainable world is one full of unique natural wonders. Beautiful, snow capped mountains in the Himalayas. Lush, green rainforests in South America. In the more urban areas, there would be houses with solar panels that are tall and space conservative. Cars would run on hydrogen and fossil fuels will have vanished. Everyday toys will be 3D Printed and will be made out of recycled plastic. All the habitats that animals have lost will be restored.
- B) What are you planning to do to make this vision a reality?
To make my vision a reality, all world leaders will have to work together to sustain all these amazing landforms. By doing so, lots of goods will have to be recyclable. That will decrease the amount of waste that will build up in landfills which will decrease the amount of waste that will affect life. Some examples of ways that trash can affect life are trash that will get blown into the ocean, chemicals from trash getting into the drinking water reservoirs, and littering in natural habitats. Also, people will have to decrease the amount of meat they eat. The reason why is because it takes an enormous amount of water to produce them. It takes around 250 gallons of water to produce one ounce of beef. That could eventually lead to droughts around the world, which willaffect a number of crops that will be able to grow.
- C) What impact has colonization had on our journey to a sustainable planet?
Colonization has had a massive impact on sustaining planet earth. One of the things that colonization has impacted is deforestation. The more people that live in an area, the more houses will be needed. That’s why over 200 trees are chopped down each minute - to provide shelter and other life necessities. Also, colonization has disrupted the food chain and wiped out different communities multiple times. This is because colonization brings new diseases to the indigenous people that live there. The way colonization brings disrupts the food chain is that crops will die. When colonization wipes out the native people, they won’t know how to sustain the crops that were already there. This is devastating because the animals won’t have anything to eat and they will die.
