LO-Hamza Shahzad-What does climate change mean to young people?

Environment   Oct 23, 2016 by Hamza Shahzad

It is interesting to see youth's perspective in developing countries on this matter that affects all of us.Most of the people fighting climate change on the front lines are adults. The truth is that most of the people fighting on the front lines aren't the ones who'll have to face the worst effects of climate change. The people that will face the worst of it are the ones in school right now.We didn't cause the problem, but we have to fix it.Here, in North America and specifically Canada, we are in a much better spot to fight climate change than youth in Rwanda or Peru.We are much less vulnerable in our houses and with our healthcare and amenities. These people in these developing countries have experienced climate change first hand. For example, in Africa, specifically in Rwanda, where agriculture is a big factor for their economy they have seen a decline in crops and longer periods of droughts then there were previously.Climate change might not be hurting us very much here in Alberta but it won't be long before we start to feel the effects of climate change.
