About Me

Hi! My name is Rowena Thekkekara and I'm from Pimlico State High School, Queensland, Australia. I am 15 and I love music as I play 6 instruments. Having traveled often, I am very passionate about climate change and certainly hope to change the world into a sustainable world.

My vision for a sustainable world is the increase of sustainable energy produced. The energy produced includes solar, wave, wind hydroelectricity and geothermal energy. Though the costs would be substantial, compared to how energy is produced now, it would greatly impact the environment. Furthermore, my vision also includes cars produced by solar power. In this century, scientists are currently developing cars which could successfully be powered by solar power. Producing cars like this would majorly reduce greenhouse gasses and CO2 being emitted into the earth's atmosphere.
I am planning on making this vision a reality by firstly, taking part in this project where we youths can have a major impact on the environment and hopefully saving the world we live in. Secondly, I plan to take part in various extra-curricular activities in which not only me but all youths can have a say in the place we live in. Hopefully, by doing so and continuously taking part in these activities, changes can be made.
Colonization has had a major impact on our journey to a sustainable planet. Factories and use of fossil fuel have created dangerous greenhouse gasses which as trapped the heat, making Earth warmer. This not only affects our journey to a sustainable planet but also greatly endangers the planet as the colder area's of Earth, which is inhabited by endangered animals. If the colder areas of Earth, Antarctica and the North Pole, increase in temperature, then the animals will lose their home and the earth's water levels will rapidly rise. This will create flash floods, and destroy more than 50% of the inhabitable land on Earth. Furthermore, the use of fossil fuel and nuclear power creates more greenhouse gases, making this disturbing future happening at a faster rate.
Though, if the future generations unify, then Earth's daunting future will be delayed and hopefully completely gone. I believe that the following project will save the planet and will inspire future generations to take the world we live in seriously.
