3a- bilateral- deliberative process

Oct 20, 2017 by heather mcphail

Similarities between the cases discussed. Tar Sans in Canada, and Crucitas here in Costa Rica. One of the biggest similarities is that both of the problems are affecting the environment due to the government, and for the economy. Both of the problems are affecting land and water because of the amount of chemicals and water that is needed to extract the oil in the Tar Sans, and the amount of mercury that is needed to extract the gold here in the Crucitas mine.

A difference is that here in costa rica the indigenous community is not being affected as strongly as in the Tar Sans.

Somethings that we missed in the analysis is the amount of species that are in danger
