2a United States: Climate Change is Our Shared Problem

Oct 3, 2017 by brianwu

1. What are the most relevant actions/targets proposed in SDG#13?

One of the most relevant actions/targets proposed in SDG#13 is that well developed and civilized countries contributed $100 billion per year to help less well developed countries with problems resulting from global warming. Other countries are strongly urged to add more support to these countries.

2. How do SDG #13 targets respond to the challenges created by the effects of climate change in water in both Indigenous and non-indigenous communities

All the targets respond to the challenges created by the effects of climate change in water in both Indigenous and on-indigenous communities. Money is donated to countries all over the world to help them become more developed. This money can also be used to prevent climate change. For example, it could be used for making more electric cars. Climate change warms the water from all over the world. In indigenous communities, the citizens will survive better with more water because it is a natural and essential resource. In non-indigenous communities, a warmer climate will negatively impact the plants and resources. Because of this, a cooler climate will be better for non-indigenous communities.

3. What other areas do you think should be taken into account?

I think some manufacturing companies and factories should be taken into account. A lot of these companies release CO2 into the atmosphere, which is a major cause of global warming.

4. What elements would you incorporate if you had to build and action/target that addressed water, Indigenous peoples, and non-indigenous people. Provide a brief rationale that justifies each element?

I would incorporate that many states in the US and other places in other countries are in drought. This affects our crops as well. Many people are also using too much gas instead of electricity and too much energy in general.
