- How is this representation of climate change similar to the other things you’ve read/viewed? How is different?
Similarities: In this video as in the last blog we did it says that indigenous lifestyle does not create more CO2 that the earth can get back, the way they cultivate does not make the earth warmer, but they are the ones who feel the changes the most. Explains the agreements there are being made to decrease the amount of CO2 released by the industrialized countries and that they are developing agreements to slow down and maybe stop the destruction of forests, this agreements are called REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation). Also the video explains something we have known since the beginning, we must live the world on their hands because they know the earth better than no one.
Differences:In this video they talked about how we have to include the indigenous women in this movement since they are the ones that give us the information. It must be ensured that they are part of the voice that represents the indigenous people and that they have to be taken into account. They explain that in the future there will be changes in laws and governments and that indigenous people will be in the front line, there rights and lifestyle will be respected and they would have full participation in the REDD+.
- Where do you see the influence of indigenous peoples in this video? Where is it missing?
I see the influence of indigenous people in the FPIC (Free, Prior, Informed and Consent) governments and other most work with indigenous people in the REDD+ agreement process.
Free: means that the participation of indigenous people will be free from intimidation or pressure.
Prior: means that the will ensure that they will give the indigenous people the time and support they need to take part in REDD+ in their one way.
Informed: They will tell them what they need to know in ways they can understand, they will answer any question they have and they will be provided with any information that they ask for.
Consent: They will make their decision on anything to do with REDD+ in their own way and in their own time, if they as indigenous people say no to whatever is proposed then this won’t be able to go ahead.
- What solutions to climate change does this video propose?
Solutions to climate change proposed in this video are: make sure each country is ready to take part by planning what needs to be done (stage we are now). Bring these promises to live along side commitment on how benefits will be share; there will be test projects to make sure we can measure how much C02 we take out of the earth and how much CO2 we can stop of being made.
- Do you agree with the representation of indigenous people and climate change action in the video? Why or why not?
Yes I agree because in this video indigenous perspective of this project is presented and it explained their part in this very clear.

Very commendable Gloria. Have you put any of the things you learnt into practice? That's the best way to use the knowledge we acquire.
