The Indigenous side
In this representation there are some similarities with other materials that I´ve read about this theme such as the problems that Earth will suffer if we don´t do anything and the principal agent responsible for this situation. The most different thing in the video is that it shows us another side of the problem, the Indigenous peoples side. It shows what they think about it, how they can help us and their importance in this big project.
The influence of Indigenous peoples is present all over the video and I totally agree with their representation. The fact that it is an Indigenous man who´s explaining to us about the global warming and the agreements that are being made all over the world, makes it clear that they are a huge part of the actions we need to take and we must stop thinking only about ourselves and start to learn with them how to be good for nature and our planet. They inhabit this planet first and they have a lot of knowledge about the environment that can be shared and help us to turn our land into a better place.
The purpose of the REDD+ agreement is simply amazing. They aren´t just considering the nature side, they are also considering the side of people who live there and that are most exposed to the harmful effects of climate change. If we think a little bit, they´re also trying to fix a bad heritage which has been left for us through colonization by ensuring that indigenous rights are respected and fulfilled. With that, although it is occurring slowly, we are going the right way.

Well done. Your response to the first question is excellent. I like the conciseness of your answer with reference to the similarities and differences. I have observed a similar trend too - the negative impact of climate change is reflected on this video just like in other readings and videos of the previous sections,
Your response to the second question is awesome too. The entire video reflects the impact of indigenous people on climate change. For instance, the part where we are told they fought for REDD+ to be initiated. Similarly, the part where they stood to prevent the forest from being destroyed. Is there any other part of the video you see similar and specific impacts?
In response to question three, you cited REDD+ which i couldn't agree more with you on about its awesomeness. It's an outstanding solution that empowers indigenous people and influences our climate ultimately. Well done.
Questions
- Do you agree with the representation of Indigenous peoples and climate change action in the video? Why or why not?
- What are the opportunities and challenges in taking seriously Indigenous perspectives of climate change? Consider factors that facilitate or hinder ethical responses to climate change, including social and economic inequities, political dynamics, marginalization, discrimination, state, military/police power, etc.
