How does your footprint reflect the economy of your country, including its colonial relations?
My carbon footprint reflects the economy of my country in a bad way because I go to school by a fuel car and I use electricity a lot in my house which has infected a lot of states, like Florida. Hurricane Irma recently struck Florida and climate change is causing this problem because we are using too much electricity and cars which is polluting the Earth. This causes the gas prices to rise and people can't go to work which decreases the productivity. This also causes a lot of money for the state to rebuild its homes and fruits, like citrus fruits, will be more expensive in markets and more people will not be able to afford citrus foods. Also, carbon emissions from cars and electricity can create smog in the sky which can spread into colonies of other countries. Spreading smog to other places is not a good thing to do and it can harm our planet more and more.
How are the effects of climate change related with power imbalances among countries or within countries?
The effects of climate change have caused power imbalances among countries. For example, in Papa Guinea, forests are being cut down by other forestry business in Malaysia and Malaysia has more power than Papa Guinea because Papa Guinea's government has no food and resources for people to use and eat. Some Papa Guineans are very poor and businesses are making them even poorer. Cutting down forests are harming the environment and releasing more greenhouse gases which are primarily causing climate change because plants breathe out oxygen and breathe in carbon dioxide. Also, the less oxygen, people can't survive on this planet anymore because we need oxygen to survive. Machines are also being used to cut down trees and machines used fuel which can pollute the sky and make the sky unbreathable.
