In my view, for a world to be sustainable, many things must be changed today. As the very way to see the world, because if we look at it as if it were just a place to live and a place to enjoy it's qualities, we will never be able to make the world a sustainable place.

For this to turn up, it's necessary to make people aware of the importance of our planet. It's necessary for us to take care of the things that are offered by our world in a rational way, without using too much, because in a few years many things that exist today, in large and small quantities, will end very quickly.

With the colonization, we would have many advances that would help us to make the planet sustainable. We would have many people supporting us, technological advances, specialized people, etc. But we should all be aware of the proposals for a sublte planet.

Hi Alison,

Many thanks for making this comment, I am very flattered to know that people from other countries are reading what I wrote. Well, in relation to your first question I believe that everything can be changed, even the minds of people. Sometimes people are afraid of change or saying otherwise, afraid to leave their comfort zone. In order for them to feel safe from getting out of their old thoughts, it is necessary that every day, little by little, this change of thought happens in simple ways through divulgations, lectures, programs or even people close to them to begin to realize this importance and start talking how this can be positive. It would be interesting to see this change in schools, but as a student, I'm pretty sure that students would not be interested in such a boring or complicated subject that addresses our whole planet and its changes and I do believe there may be other ways , but for now, I do not know how to tell you how it would be done. Consumption, that word is a big problem right now. For this to be changed, in my view, the laws must be more rigid, because I believe they are not working and are being mocked and that limits are created to reduce this consumption. To conclude this, past colonization has brought great problems in relation to the exploitation of resources that today would be very useful, but they are scarce.

Thank you so much

Pedro

Hi Pedro,

I am a mentor for this project. You have the beginnings of some very strong ideas. I think your insight into changing how people view the planet is very important and would be a great starting point for a sustainable world. How do you think you can change people's views and make them aware of the importance of our planet? Would you like to see this change through education at school or are there other ways this could happen? You have touched on consumption as an issue which seems to be very important in our current world. How do you think this issue can be changed?

You have noted some positive examples of future colonization; however, what do you think the impact of past colonization on the current environment is?

I look forward to reading more of your ideas and seeing your understandings of these ideas develop.

Allison
