CILT, Brazil, Brasília E6 Teacher: Denise Bomtempo - Pedro Igor Silva: 1A I have a plan to help the Earth!

Environment   Aug 25, 2017 by Pedro Igor Oliveira Silva

For me a sustainable world is a world where all people are looking for solutions and ways to retain all the natural resources in the world, and recovery them if it is possible.

All the people work better when they have a reward and a goal. My plan is to reward "sustainable people" with tax rebates and other awards for their effort and good work.

Before the colonization until today a lot of people are selfish. They are and were just looking for satisfying their wishes and don't think about what the price for that is. The world is paying an expensive price for this luxury. But now we must see that we will not have all the natural resources available forever. We need to stop with the unconscious consumption and make a better future with a better world.

Hi Pedro,

I am a mentor from the University of Alberta. I think you are off to a great start thinking creatively about these important issues. I agree that many people are motivated by rewards. What sustainable actions would be the most important for you? I think you have touched on something that is very important which is unconscious consumption. Can you provide a few examples related to colonization that are related to your idea.

Allison

Hello, Alisson. Nice to meet you!

All kind of help is welcome. We can begin: recycling our trash, being faster in our bath, buying only what we really need. Small things together may be the biggests.

About colonization: We don't need to buy all the shoes, clothes, eletronic that are avaible. We don't need to kill the earth to be happy. Things are just things. We have to worry more with the future don't just with our appearance, beauty, welfare. The earth is not our, it's only like borrowed.

Pedro Igor
