1a. My Virtual Profile - Brendan Ridep-Morris

Environment   Aug 16, 2017 by Brendan Ridep-Morris - Pimlico

What is your vision for a sustainable world?
My vision for a sustainable world is to have as many people in the world to be aware of and actively working to reduce the damage that we are inflicting upon earth, i.e. pollution, CO2 emission, global warming.

What are you planning to do to make this vision a reality?
I plan to spread awareness by hosting surveys and communicating with the wider community through people such as school leaders, teachers, government officials and the prime minister.

What impact has colonization had on our journey to a sustainable planet?
It has led to the urbanization and increase in population. This increase, has also meant an increase in demand for resources to support our population which in turn has increased pollution. Overall colonization has furthered us from the goal of creating a sustainable world.

Hi Brendan,

How has colonization lead to urbanization? How has this pollution both impacted the environment and the people who depend on it? When we talk about colonization it is important not only an increase in population but a displacement of people who have lived sustainably on and with the lands for centuries.

Awareness is central to a shift away from climate destruction, but given the gravity of the situation, what might someone in your position, school, community, do to actually address some of the concerns brought forward by climate change?
