About Me

I'm in grade 10 at Pimlico Sate High and am from Townsville (QLD). Throughout my time working with other students on this program I wish to learn further about climate change and its effects on the planet.

In my vision, a sustainable world is one in which humans can rely on resources that are produced from sustainable companies/factories. This would mean that the way in which these resources are produced is able to continue for as long as there is demand for the product. The manufacturing of these products would be done in a manner that minimalized the impact on the environment so it is therefore environmentally sustainable.

To make the vision of a sustainable world a reality, it is important that when buying items, the most natural and sustainable companies are supported as this will contribute to a more sustainable world.

Colonization has had a large impact on our planet in numerous ways. Clearly, as the human race is growing more resources and materials are needed to provide comfortable living conditions. Quite simply, the higher the population the higher the demand for various resources. With this increase more houses, factories and buildings in general are built which therefore creates a problem as the resources may produced unsustainably and causes a problem within the plant. As the demand for these resources increases, shortcuts may be taken, which may cause these products to be created unsustainably This clearly means that colonization has had a somewhat negative impact on the journey to a sustainable planet.
