- How is this representation of climate change similar to the other things you’ve read/viewed? How is different? 1-It is different because it explains to me more things that I did not know or did not take into account, for example; it makes me understand that the way in which indigenous communities live does not produce CO2, and that if indigenous communities do not try to associate with programs like REDD + that is responsible for carbon reduction and FPIC that is to make agreements with indigenous communities and governments, indigenous communities will not be able to do anything to stop environmental pollution. If we do not support each other or if we will not both be affected by the production of CO2 .
- Where do you see the influence of Indigenous peoples in this video? Where is it missing? 2-It is seen in the way they do not produce CO2 like us, besides they live in the forest, know their land better than anyone, they know the diversity of plants that may exist, and are the only people who know the problem that is happening their land, and support each other, and also how they can keep growing their food with the crops that work. They also have means of transport that do not produce Co2 like cars and airplanes, instead they use their boats and animals.
-What solutions to climate change does this video propose? 3-The video proposes that we all must do something to stop the increase of CO2 and prevent the earth from being destroyed, proposes that indigenous communities work with associations so that their environment is not destroyed by the increase of CO2 and not all have to pass for environmental problems because of CO2, also make laws that prohibit the felling of trees since they are the ones that store the CO2 that we produce.
- Do you agree with the representation of Indigenous peoples and climate change action in the video? Why or why not? 4-If I agree that the indigenous peoples want us to have respect for their lands and to make good use of them without damaging them and contaminating them. Furthermore, the indigenous peoples are the ones who are most present in the field, giving account of the change taking in their lands, the rivers and their environment producing a contamination.
- What are the opportunities and challenges in taking seriously Indigenous perspectives of climate change? Consider factors that facilitate or hinder ethical responses to climate change, including social and economic inequities, political dynamics, marginalization, discrimination, state, military/police power, etc. 5- The challenges would be both economic and political power, because there are authorities that are not interested in CO2 reduction, and indigenous communities will be affected by the increase in CO2, and if the authorities were interested, they could even change a future with less CO2, the opportunities are also redd + that is interested in indigenous communities and seek the most effective way to help them and reduce the problem of environmental pollution, there is also a gender inequality towards women because indigenous communities consider them as the weaker gender.
