Costa Rica: Climate Change is Our Shared Problem

Oct 2, 2017 by Daniela Solera

Climate change is now affecting everyone around the world. It is disrupting national economies and affecting lives, communities and countries today and even more tomorrow. And as we know, now a days we are facing global warming effects, an I think that is time to make a change before this effects cause more damages than the ones that are causing now. Thats why I think we should start the accomplishment of the sustainable goals. And one of the goals that has most to do with global warming is “Goal 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts ”. The main target of this goals areI to integrate climate change measures into national policies, strategies and planning, also trying to implement the commitment undertaken by developed-country parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change to a goal of mobilizing jointly $100 billion annually by 2020 from all sources to address the needs of developing countries in the context of meaningful mitigation actions and transparency on implementation and fully operationalize the Green Climate Fund through its capitalization as soon as possible, and one of the target from this goal that I personally think is the one that should have more relevance is to improve education, awareness-raising and institutional capacity on climate change mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction. As I was saying, I think this is one of the target that has more relevance, and thats because if education instilled in children since they are little, as they grow they will have conscious about what global warming causes and how its effects is affecting us now. So I think that if we instilled children about global warming, will be able to avoid simple things such as making conscious about using single use plastic, or not using straws, or the simple fact of not wasting and contaminating water.
