  • How are the effects of climate change related with power imbalances among countries or within countries?

The stronger countries have more influence in shaping the policies that will affect not only their own country but all the countries. A lot of the stronger countries are making policies that benefited them but not some of the smaller countries. For example when President Trump promoted the coal industry. In the short run there might be a few extra jobs to the economy and brings some economic benefit to a few large coal companies but in the long run the us economy is not helped that much by this policy and coal isn’t good for the environment.

  • How does your footprint reflect the economy of your country, including its colonial relations?

The houses in some central locations are more expensive so people live farther away from work causing them to commute a longer distance which makes their carbon footprint higher. Generally in countries with a stronger economy there are more car owners so there are more people driving cars.
