United States: 1c. Colonial Context

Environment   Sep 18, 2017 by stellajames

My footprint reflects the economy and a big part of the people of my country, all of the people in USA have carbon footprints that are affected by the economy. Since USA has a higher and more stable economy, the people can live a more lavish, and carefree life where people can afford many luxuries due to higher salaries, but this also means that the people have a higher carbon footprint. There are many companies, factories, and other carbon producing jobs. All of this impacts all of the world, especially countries with lower economies, and less money. Most of these countries are indigenous, and our ruined when companies from bigger and richer countries come along trying to buy land and other natural resources the people need. These people can’t speak against these companies, so they are forced to do most of the company’s work for little to no money. When powerful storms come along, caused by climate change, the indigenous people are ruined, because with what they have the storm is even worse, and impacts them more. This means that we need to have a balance between eco friendly expensive technology that kills the economy, and technology that gives more money to the economy but is horrible for the environment.
