CILT- BRASÍLIA-BRAZIL- Class: 2D- Teacher: Cristina Lourenço- 1A "A NEW START"

Environment   Aug 30, 2017 by Gabriel Cecilio

In my opinion, for a sustainable world we need to be more aware of how we treat our planet because we do not give vvalve to resouras as important as water, forestes and the air we breathe. Our world suffers havily from polution and we need to do something before it'stoo late.

I plan to give educational talks in the future,to help people think more about the planet we live in.and a project.

Since colonization in Brazil, there are records of environmental problems, such as deforestation of the Atlantic forest. As for example the cerrado and the northeastern backlands were also seriously damaged, causing very serious environmental impacts.

Gabriel,

You are right, a shift does need to occur in the way people value the environment. Pollution is a major contributor to global warming and individuals can take action to reduce their own impacts by paying attention to the waste output.

Thank you for using an example from Brazil when talking about colonization – it is important to understand what happens in our own countries and they way those histories are both the same and different from other experiences of colonization. Deforestation is an ongoing practice, are there ways you can connect this practice to historical colonialism? How long has this been happening? What sort of resistance has occurred in response to this practice?
