1. Ecological Footprint Calculator -Link
- What part of your ecological footprint most surprised you?
- What surprised me is that if everyone lived the same lifestyle as me, we would require 5.9 earths.
- How did your footprint compare to your city’s average and your country’s average?
- Does not show.
- What parts of your footprint do you feel is possible to reduce? What parts don’t?
- I feel what is possible to reduce is the type of car I use, and what type of foods I eat. What I don’t feel is possible for me currently is to use other means of transportation because I live in a remote area where the road is too skinny and gravelly to bike. I know this because I tried biking and all the skin got scraped off my left arm.
3. Water Footprint Calculator -Link (Global North Schools), Link (Global South Schools)
- Were you surprised by how much water you consumed?
- No, I am not surprised because the amount I used was underneath the global average, meaning it was a reasonable amount.
- How did your footprint compare to your country’s and the world's average? (You will need to research this.)
- The world’s average is above my average. My average is 794 m3 per year, while the global average is 1243 m3 per year.
- My country’s average is 2842 m3, way more than my average or the global average.
- What parts of your footprint do you feel is possible to reduce? What parts don’t?
- I feel what is possible to reduce is the amount of meat I eat. I should reduce my meat eating to improve my water footprint and my diet.
