  • A) What is your vision for a sustainable world?

My vision for a sustainable world is an end to all forms of pollution and global warming. Adding on, more use of solar energy would help with preventing pollution. For example, people could use solar panels or electric cars instead of using gas. We should use more clean energy in the form of mills and solar panels. I also believe we should recycle and reuse more, because much of what we throw in the trash can still be used. Not recycling would result in a lot more pollution in bodies of water and in the skies. Adding on, the whole world would be at peace and in harmony, meaning an end to all wars and conflicts between countries.

  • B) What are you planning to do to make this vision a reality?

I am planning to recycle and reuse materials that can be reused, and to encourage my parents and family to also do this. This would help protect our environment from pollution and would contribute less to global warming. Every piece of plastic or trash that can be recycled that goes in the trash will contribute to global pollution, and I can help prevent that by recycling more. Adding on, I can persuade my parents to use solar panels and electric cars more instead of using gas which contributes to global warming.

  • C) What impact has colonization had on our journey to a sustainable planet?

Colonization has impacted us on our journey to a sustainable planet. Over time, as we colonize the Earth more, civilizations grow and population increases. Because of this increase in population, more materials are needed to survive. However, not all of these are eco-friendly. Some of these materials may include chemicals which could contribute to climate change and global warming. For example, some factories might be needed to generate necessary tools to survive, but these factories may let out smoke or harmful chemicals to our environment. As a result, pollution could fill the skies as well as bodies of water.

Hi Brian,

My name's Summer and I'm going to be one of your mentors on this project. Thanks for the post!

You mentioned solar panels and electric cars quite a bit, can you tell me about any examples of where these two pieces of tech are being adopted strongly by the society around them?

As well, you mentioned that colonization has lead to population increases. What about the people who already lived in the places where colonization has occurred? Have those societies experienced a population boom as well?
