- A) What is your vision for a sustainable world?
My vision for a sustainable world is where chemicals that produce atmospheric waste, like methane, Chlorofluorocarbons, or carbon dioxide, are no longer used in the amount that they are used today. Instead, inexhaustible resources, like the sun, wind and water should be used to generate power. Those power sources would not destroy the atmosphere and not retain heat, meaning that climate change and global warming would either go down or not continue to go up. This would mean that the heat would not continue to rise meaning that glaciers would stop melting and turning into undrinkable salt water. That would mean that we have access to more freshwater. If global warming went down, then there would be less droughts. There would also be less flooding and people losing their homes or property. Overall, people would have more access to freshwater, there would be less saltwater, and there would be less flooding.
- B) What are you planning to do to make this vision a reality?
To make this vision a reality I would start with me and my family. I would try get my family to start using less chemicals that would produce other chemicals that would damage the atmosphere and continue to make global warming happen. From their I would try to get friends family’s to stop producing bad chemicals and destroying the atmosphere. Hopefully, enough people would stop killing the atmosphere to create the sustainable world I described.
- C) What impact has colonization had on our journey to a sustainable planet?
The impact that colonization has had on our journey to a sustainable planet is both negative and positive. It is negative because we use up more resources like freshwater. We also destroy nature to create buildings which doesn't help keeping the planet sustainable. We also pollute many natural resources, as well as make some species go extinct. It is positive because we are trying these problems. People are trying to make the world more sustainable by creating technology that will help us stop polluting and destroying our planet.
