If the demise of the Great Barrier Reef, one of the most magnificent creations of the world does not elicit the much required response, we must admit, we are doomed.Our end would not be the manifestation of God's wrath but would be brought about by the human tomfoolery in believing that they could procrastinate for yet decade.The proverbial ' Act before it is too late ' is the only way we can save our environment.
The exchange of ideas and concerns at the Global Virtual Town Hall Meeting threw light on the fact that perpetually all the countries of the world have to come together to resolve issues.No nation can choose to be indifferent.
I would like to reiterate the following points;
1. Though domestic wastage of water counts for only 2 % of the water crisis issue yet 'Each drop counts'.Herein, lies the responsibility of the youth.
The young Brigade must not slacken in teaching the public.
2. The focus might be on water this year, but forestation drive must never be put on the back burner.
3. We must stand with the people of Kiribati in their struggle.For them, climate change is no longer something to be debated or legislated; it is an everyday reality!!The Pacific islands are sinking and wiping off a complete nationality from the surface of the sea.
We, at YPS Patiala have started taking small steps.The promise of students to gift tree saplings on birthdays, the concern for tending to leaking taps, the switching over to cycling from driving may be minuscule steps but they do give us a ray of hope.
All the best to those attending the Morocco Summit!!
