It seems old news. But it happened again. And it will keep happening as the world can not contain its emissions of greenhouse gases. The 11th consecutive month, the earth heat hit record highs in August, as reported on Wednesday, 14, the US space agency (Nasa).
It is the hottest August of the last 136 years, following a trend that has been repeated month after month, year after year, as a clear sign of global warming caused by actions of human beings. Relative to the base period (the average temperature value between 1951 and 1980) to August, the Earth's average temperature last month was 0.98 ° C warmer. It was still 0.16 ° C higher than the hottest August recorded until then, 2014.
Since October 2015 the temperature is breaking record after record in monitoring that began to be made in 1880. Keeping pace over the coming months, 2016 will be the new hottest year on record, surpassing 2015 which, in turn, hit 2014 . "we emphasize that long-term trends are the most important for understanding the ongoing changes that are affecting our planet," said Gavin Schmidt, director of the Goddard Institute for Space Studies at NASA.

In Brazil, while people don't feel the change themselves, they won't fight for a better situation, and some of then, even knowing the problems and having power to aniquilate it, they won't make a minimal effort. My propose is the little actions of the individual day of everyone, this may not be the case of the rest of the world, but in Brazil everyday I see at least ten persons throwing trash on the street, generally I took the trash and show the person who throw it the right action, if I know the person I talk to her, and a lot of things like waste of water and etc. These little things might not have a powerful change, but makes people think about it, because the world is made by them. And of course use the government as an ally in our fight on the big problems, partially created by the little problems.
Hello Gabriel,
I am so sorry that I missed the video conference on October 17 -- from the feedback I've read from the Canadian students who were there it sounded like quite an enlightening experience!
I agree that change must start from the bottom and move up, and that individuals must take it upon themselves to drive change in their households, their communities, and, by extension, their countries. I'm really glad to hear that you are not afraid to point out to your peers the ways in which they can lessen their negative environmental impact by not littering and/or recycling. Keep up the good work!
I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the video conference! Is there anything about Canada's water usage that surprised you? Did you learn anything new that has given you ideas about how to address water issues in your community?
