Our Diverse and Beautiful World

Environment   Oct 5, 2016 by Ellie Syth

I want to challenge everyone out there. I'm not doing this for my class, but of my own choice. I want to see your world. Show me your cities, mountains, lakes. I want to see how you see our world. Here I'll go first. This is a picture of a sunrise, at 8:00 in the morning. This is fall in Alaska and the daylight hours are shrinking until the sunrises at 10:00 and sets at about 4:30. When people think of Alaska, they might think of something like the lion, the witch and the wardrobe movie where the witch comes storming in, in a carriage drawn  by polar bears. That is soooooooo wrong, we have a summer. It may only get to 75 degrees Fahrenheit, but that is plenty warm for us. Where I live, the winter only gets as cold as -10 degrees Fahrenheit at night. That's not very cold for us or a lot of other place.  Now go, take a picture and write a description about the Real you, not the picture that the media put in our heads.

Hi Ellie, this is a great idea! I've decided to post a picture of Jasper National Park in Alberta, Canada. Although I love to see this place covered in snow in the winter, it's beautiful year round!
