Water and Ecological Footprint

Okay so it is crazy how we take what is considered luxury to others we take for granted. Primarily water. Water is, in my opinion, signle-handedly one of the most neglected resources in a first world country especially in North America. I am cetainly surprised at how much water I am using weekly or even monthly. Thankfully my water footprint is under the average but is still pretty high. Small tasks such as washing my dishes after I am done using them to reduce the usage of our dishwasher and turning the faucet off while brushing my teeth can effectively reduce my ecological footprint in the long run.

As for my ecological footprint, I have taken a couple of tests when I was younger and I am proud to say that I have reduced it quite a bit. Even though I am below Calgary's average, I am still above Canada's average. I predicted what my ecological footprint would be and I am not entirely surprised in my results. One thing I am planning on altering is my form of transportation by using public transit more often than driving.

Climate Change Challenge

I have to say that being a politician is more than meets the eye. When negotiating and passing bills, my number one goal was to reduce carbon emissions in Europe. I was successful in that niche however I didn't take into account other factors I was to focus on until I reached my 4th try. When I reached the negotiation table, I initially thought that money might encourage the other leaders to reduce their country's carbon emissions however I later realized that leading by example more so inspired the leaders to agree upon a goal to reaching regarding the topic of carbon reduction.

The simulations were overall eye-opening and makes me think twice before I do something that will potentially harm the environment.
