LO-Simran Randhawa- Water is a necessity in our lives

Globalization   Oct 23, 2016 by simran randhawa

Many people are unaware how essential water is in our daily lives. People cannot survive without drinking fresh water for one week. We are currently dealing with a huge water crisis in the world. Many people think that things like leaving the water running is the main reason there is a water shortage crisis. However, domestic use of water only accounts for 8% of water consumption. The two main sources of water consumption are agriculture and industrialization. 70% of water usage goes to agriculture and 22% goes to industrial purposes. Many areas of the world do not even have access to clean water. Lack of fresh water is becoming a major health concern worldwide. Only 2.5% of the earth's water is fresh water. We need to take action to prevent water scarcity from becoming a greater issue. Spreading awareness for this issue will help make a difference. Life would not exist without water.
