Vision for a sustainable world
What is my vision for a sustainable world? I see a world where polution of land,air, and sea is no longer a problem. The key to this is making ways to create clean energy cheeper and more abundant. Some of the worst forms of polution Ive seen is that of a power plant. It wasnt some big nuclear power plant, it was a medium sized coal plant on the west coast of florida. They used a near by river for cooling and filtration and in less than ten years the water on the nearby beach went from crystal clear to dark and merky. The marine life dropped by over 30% and it got to the point where they had to close the near by beaches. This could have all been avoided if we had chosen to use a clean source of energy such as windmills or solar power to provide energy for the nearby towns. Yes it is much more expensive, and takes much more space and equitment, but isnt it worth it? Ten years of power to one county and we destroyed a beach and ruined an envirement. if we wish to preserve this planet for our children and grandchildren we must do better than that.
