Hello and welcome, today I am discussing my carbon footprint. Based on my input, my total carbon footprint is 12, 527 kgs of Carbon dioxide per year. I am however over the average for Australia by just over 750kgs and over the global by over 3 times the amount. Australia is a country that is commonly associated with high average CO2 emission rates. As shown in the table below, I have low carbon rates in purchases, transportation and high rates in home and food. My carbon footprint is considerably low in transportation as I ride my bike to and from school and use my bike more frequently than other transports like cars, plane or train. As a family of 5 I still believe my home and food footprint is higher than I expected. As believed I knew my carbon footprint was going to be high in the home section especially in cooling systems such as fans, air-conditioning from the high temperatures in my region. Overall I was surprised in the Food factor but pleased with my carbon footprint as a whole.
