Mitchell, Townsville, Australia, My Carbon Footprint

My personal carbon footprint is about the same as an average Australian as it is 10,925kgs of CO2 per year, compared to an average of 11,771kgs. Since my house is close to school I mostly walk or ride to school, I rarely use public transport. This explains the reason for my transportation total being so low. I also have 4 people living in my household, two dogs and two cats, therefore the total of food will be high. I can see that my household was 700kgs above average. I believe this is because of the amount of electricity we use during the day and at night, and the fact we do not use solar electricity or solar panels. A new realization is how much food impacts the environment. I struggle to understand how different foods can emit different amounts of CO2 and how it can impact the environment.
