Carbon Footprint by Ally- Affiliated HS, Taiwan

After calculating my own carbon footprint, I found that I cause the most pollution in my home life. When I brush my teeth, I always leave the water running. This is a waste of resources, so I have decided to change my bad habit. Another aspect is that my home doesn't have solar panels, a water-saving washing machine and an energy-saving conditioner. Therefore, a lot of resources were wasted without notice, which is a pity. If we can buy products which have energy-saving functions, we can leave these resources to more people.

I saw another news last night which was about many people in Africa starving to death or not having enough water to drink and use. This situation causes me to think about my life. I have a lot of food to eat, many clothes to wear, but the people in Africa don't. Hence, I want to do something to help and make the world a better place, here are the things I would like to start doing:

1.Turning off the lights before I leave.

2.Recycling old clothes.

3.choosing seasonal food to eat.

4.Buying appliances which have energy-saving functions.

5.Soaking clothes for more than 20 minutes before washing so that soap can break down the stains.
