David Suzuki

David Suzuki is a longtime Canadian environmental activist whose work on the show The Nature of Things has made him known worldwide. He is a Japanese-Canadian born in 1936. When the second world war broke out and many Japanese Canadians were imprisoned, David volunteered to work on the Trans Canada Highway, in order to win the trust of the Canadian Government. After the war he and his family were relocated to Ontario, where he went to university and taught at a number of universities across Canada. Suzuki’s real break came when he began to go into to radio hosting a number of shows until he took a job on CBC TV to host the show The Nature of Things, cementing his worldwide popularity. He eventually shifted into becoming an environmental activist and is known for the David Suzuki Foundation that helps reduce Carbon emissions of the world. Suzuki is currently still working with many environmental groups to ensure a better future for all.
