I learned lots of things from the bilateral conference with the school in the Philippines. First I learned that in the Philippines they have a big issue with pollution due to their population, I also learned that the Philippines is made of lots of tiny islands, the case study the school in the Philippines made it was very different compared to our case study as their issue was based on mining and transporting dolomite sand to help ‘beautify’ Manila Bay whereas our case study was based on unconventional gas, with their case study it was more concerned around the coastal areas of Manila where our case study was more concerned inland of mining of as in Australia, it was interesting to find out that both of our issues were caused because the government approved both of them, I think the school in the Philippines faced harder challengers as they are still in quarantine since march, this would have made it harder for them to communicate with each other compared to us because our schools are open and we can see what each us were doing, it was also a challenge for the meeting as they had to individually join the zoom meeting whereas we could set up the meeting with the use of only one computer, but the Philippines did an amazing job in creating their PowerPoint and presenting their case study.
