Emily Nelson, Townsville, Australia: My Carbon Footprint

Oct 26, 2020 by Emily Nelson, Townsville, Australia

My carbon foot print is 15890 kgs per year

This footprint is marginally higher than that of my region which currently sits at 11,771 kgs per year. This is mainly due to my families and my large use of transportation. As a family we are constantly travelling to and from destinations. I was quite shocked by this result as I did not believe my family could have such a large imprint. This realisation has pushed me into the mindset of how can I make any difference to this result and I am still trying to find some answers to this question.

I think it's great how such calculators can help us understand our imprint... Realizing what we may do wrong is the first step to making conscious effort to better our carbon footprint...
Great post :))
Greetings from Greece :)

Yes, the calculator has really opened my eyes to see just how much of an impact I am causing, my family and I have recently been trying to decrease our footprint by trying to recycle everything we can. Do you have any other suggestions.

Hi from Australia :)

Hi Emily

I am sure that many people were also surprised by the carbon footprint including myself, the important thing is to realize it and decide to regulate it.

Yes, this is very true. Do you have any ways I would decrease my foot print.

Hi Emily

Like you I was also surprised when I found out my carbon footprint. This just proves to show how much we impact our environment, even as individuals. I also found interesting how you compared yourself with your region to give a perspective. Great job! :)

Thank you, do you have any suggestions to how I could possibly lower this foot print :)
