Sofia Olini, Buenos Aires, Argentina: My carbon footprint

Environment   Oct 22, 2020 by Sofia Olini

Before I calculated my carbon footprint I thought I was pretty sustainable, but then I realized that I was not. The result of it was higher than the Argentinian average, and I was shocked about how small actions I did on my daily life were so bad for the environment. I think that one important factor of why my carbon footprint was high is that I live in the city, where I go from one place to another mostly by car. Another important factor is my diet. Because of my culture, I eat in almost every meal some type of meat (either beef ,pork, chicken, etc.) with a side dish, and the production of these (especially red meats) produces and releases a lot of greenhouse gases. Luckily, now I am less ignorant about how I affect the environment and I  am trying to change most of my actions for the best. I am very interested on learning more methods to lower my carbon footprint.

Hi Sofia. The same thing happened to me and also the factor that affected me was transportation. I'm happy that now I am aware and I can make a change!
