When observing my data from the carbon footprint survey, it is clearly stated that I have an overall lower footprint than the average Australian. My carbon footprint produces 8,392 kgs of  per year compared to an average person in my area who produces 11,771 kgs. Since where I live is more remote compared to more major cities in AUS which therefore means we are required to travel longer distances more frequently. I also have family in America and Hong Kong which necessitates long amounts of air travel. These variables were the reason why my carbon dioxide production for transportation was so high. I previously knew that planes produced a lot of but I now realise that it is much more drastic. Another aspect that has increased my total is my use of air conditioning. When examining other countries and their yearly temperatures and humidity levels, Australia is extremely hot and humid especially the area that I live in since it is the tropics. I personally enjoy feeling cool for the majority of my time so I take advantage of my school and home air conditioning systems. I make up for that high level of energy by having environmentally friendly and energy sufficient utilities for example solar panels and tesla power walls. By using these devices it makes a large different in my carbon dioxide footprint. I wish to further expand m knowledge of how eating certain foods can increase or decrease my exportation of

Hi Abigail,

I have a similar problem with my footprint for transportation. It's great that you have solar panels and tesla power walls to help balance it out.

Hi Abigail, nice work with keeping your carbon footprint so low. Do you have any idea how to lower your footprint further?
