David, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. 2.1 My Footprint

Oct 22, 2020 by David Spits

My footprint is almost the same as the global average, that's about half of the national average . I think that is partially because of the crazy cycling culture here in Holland, so almost all trips within the city are made by bike. I also don't own a car and that isn't really a limitation for me, cause The Netherlands is a very small and dense country that's connected well together by train. Furthermore i don't really do a lot of things to reduce the amount of CO²emission, so i could improve on that

Hey, David!

My carbon footprint is almost three times yours so I'm amazed by how low yours is! I find it very interesting that your country's culture and geography have actually encouraged you to travel by bike and train quite often, reducing your impact on the planet. In the area of Buenos Aires where I live, the places I need to go to are usually quite far away from each other so driving is much easier but I should definitely try to use my bike more often. I admire the fact that even though your footprint is low, you still want to improve it. That's great!
