Riley, Townsville, Australia, Carbon Footprint

My carbon footprint is below the Australian Average which is seen above in the snapshot. Townsville climate is humid for a majority of the year and an air conditioner or other cooling home appliance is used on often. Our location in regards to many other major cities in Australia is remote and therefore require extensive long distance transportation which would ultimately increase my own carbon footprint. Australia isn’t reaching for a carbon neutral society yet it’s more appropriate to be under the National average of Australian carbon footprint.

The realisation of My carbon footprint has made me see what contenders emit a lot of carbon dioxide. In this case appliances that cool the house down and driving around in cars fuelled by petroleum or diesel fuel has an excessive amount of carbon dioxide emissions. Knowing this, I will travel less and use less air conditioning.

What I seem to not understand is how particular foods have certain amounts of carbon emissions such as bread and fruit. I know however that fruit and breads contain carbon due to the way they are processed, such as on fuel powered conveyer belts and in factories.
