In addition to coral bleaching, plastic pollution is also a serious problem to marine ecology. Though the advance of science and technology makes life more convenient, it also brings pollution to the world. Over time, the problem appears to transform into “bigger problems.” Just take the Pacific Ocean, the largest ocean on the earth, for example; it should be a place that is vital and full of creatures. However, it has been called as “plastic soup” because there are countless plastic garbages floating in the ocean and affecting the ecosystem. Many creatures died because of mistaking garbage for food; their digestive system got blocked causing them to starve to death. There is also extreme shock from looking at the picture of a straw stuck in a turtle’s nose. How shocking it is ! Now that we know how serious the plastic pollution is, shouldn’t all humans take action to save marine life?
