Daisy Jeffery is a 17 year old climate activist she galvanised more than 300,000 people to demand climate action and became the local face of the movement in the process. In her new book On Hope, the year 12 student writes about juggling her activism with assignments, being invited to attend the UN Climate Conference last December and why it’s important to raise your voice, especially on the topic of climate change. The countries that have benefited from having rich fossil fuels include Saudi Arabia, Russia, United Arab Emirates, Iraq and Nigeria as they are able to export majority of their fossil fuels, majority of the countries except for the countries in Africa are least to be affected by climate change when compared to the rest of the world.

Some countries that are more vulnerable to climate change is Japan with a population of 126.5 million people, the Philippines with 106.7 million people and Germany with 83.02 million people are the three countries that are most vulnerable to climate change that is around 316.22 million that are vulnerable to climate change.

I think that Global north countries do have a moral obligation as they are at economic stand point to be able to reduce the amount of carbon emission they produce and they have the advanced technology to be able to reduce carbon emission.

Some things I think that Australia is able to reduce the whole countries carbon footprint if they replace the coal burning generators with both solar power and wind turbines to but it can also affect people negatively as it may reduce hundreds of thousand jobs in the energy business

Thanks for your opinion from Australia. I think your opinion is excellent because you had thought about those doing energy related business. But I thought countries in the global north generate more greenhouse gas, they also have more population than the countries in the global, they also have more population than the countries in the south. My opinion is that the focal point should fall on global cooperation. This is better than just criticizing the northern countries.
