About Me

Stacia Gordey is a high school teacher at Queen Elizabeth High School, in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. Prior to her teaching career, Stacia earned her BA (Psychology) and MA (Sociology), preceding pursing her BEd. She currently teaches Advanced Placement English Literature and Composition, and runs the school's Dance program. A long time dancer herself, Stacia most notably danced with Canada's Shumka Dancers, in which she toured Canada, China, and Ukraine, and has performed for Canada's Governor General's Awards, Gregory Hines, and Queen Elizabeth II.

In addition to being a full time classroom teacher, Stacia is the Assistant Department Head of English, an Associate Coordinator for the school's Advanced Placement program, and site Coordinator for UNESCO. As such, she works closely with Terry Godwaldt, and the Centre for Global Education: a non-profit educational organization that seeks to engage the 21st Century Student with authentic global learning experiences, facilitated through the effective integration of technology, curriculum and innovative pedagogy.

Stacia's love of travel has taken her to 45 countries. She also enjoys spending time at her family cabin, and, of course, taking in dance shows of all varieties.
