During the web conference with students from the Philippines, I learnt many things. Their school is one of the oldest catholic schools in their region, with 1422 students. In Manila, their cyclone season was between July and October. Their region also has a lot of deforestation and water and air pollution. The students also introduced the issues they face, and what they are doing to solve the problems. The solutions they provided included, signing petitions, researching the issues more to have enough knowledge to enforce change and developing open communication with friends and family. While comparing, our case study’s, I realised that we have some things in common. For example, the case studies presented from both country’s displays a significant impact on the people participating. The challenges Australia and the Philippines face have similarities and differences. In both countries, there is a need for government approval, to go ahead with any changes. With this in mind, the Australian government has already started to make changes unlike the Philippine government, who haven’t started at all.

Hi Mitchell!
I think all of these solutions are amazing and could really help improve the situation. I'm glad the Australian government has started to make some changes. It can be very hard to provoke a change when the government is not interested in it but, as you said, there are still things we can do to help.
