The theme ‘thirsty or flooded’ relates to the Philippines being known for having the most typhoons. Meaning there were a lot of floods in the Philippines.
Philippines is also experiencing drought while going through unexpected weather events
How does it relate to your country pairing?
Australia is a country, and continent, surrounded by the Indian and pacific oceans.
It was reported that climate change will hit Australia harder than the rest of the world.
The hotter the temperature gets the more possibility that droughts would happen.
What is the current state of this UNFCCC theme?
Here in the Philippines the theme would be “flooded”
The Philippines had a strong typhoon in October. This typhoon damaged homes, crops, and killed a lot of people especially fishers. These events happened due to the flood the typhoon brought.
What are your country’s future plans, and the implications?
The Philippine’s future plans is to improve the architectures of road dikes and dams.
What strategies to combat climate change do you think are best/worst for your country?
I think carpooling, cycling, or walking would help reduce carbon emissions.
